What is Vaping?

Healthy Downriver is a collaborative coalition committed to improving the health and wellness of residents in the Downriver community. By fostering partnerships across various sectors, we aim to create meaningful change and positively impact lives.

Recently, we have joined forces with the SUDDs (Stop Underage Drinking/Drugs) Coalition, bringing together two dedicated groups to amplify our mission. Together, we strive to create a healthier environment for all through community-driven initiatives and culturally inclusive efforts.

“According to the Michigan Profile for Healthy Youth survey, conducted in local SUDDs school districts, 14.4% of high school students used and electronic vapor product in the past 30 days compared to 0.7% of those who smoked cigarettes.”

Beyond the physical health implications, vaping can exacerbate stress, anxiety, and depression. It may also affect attention, learning, and impulse control in teens, disrupting their academic success and social lives.
